The Disney Magic and Disney Wonder Cruise Ships
Disney Magic and Disney Wonder are the 2 cruise ships used in the Disney cruises. They both are somewhat reminiscent of Queen Mary, the legendary liner. However, there are differences that take you to modern times, like the nautical accessories, decorations and the bold colors that are specific to the Walt Disney world.
The 2 ships are very similar. Both the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder have dark hulls with red funnels and yellow striping. So much effort has been put in creating the Disney atmosphere, that the colors have not been chosen by accident. They remind of Mickey Mouse, probably Disney’s most famous hero. The interior is the work of many great designers from around the world.
The ships have a three story lobby, which is very elegant and reminds of the ocean liners that used to cross the Atlantic Ocean at the beginning of the 20th century. Disney Magic has a jaw dropping lobby that is very colorful and incorporates impressive stairways. On a contrasting note, the interior décor is very modern and it is a combination of the Art Deco style and the classical Disney feeling. On the other hand, the Disney Wonder is a little bit softer in the coloring of the atrium and features the interesting Art Nouveau style.
Both ships have the same number of staterooms, 875 to be more exact, which are all very spacious and make maximum use of the available space. Each stateroom can easily offer comfortable residence for 3 people, but family staterooms can accommodate up to 5.
About 75% of all the staterooms are outside, and 44% even have balconies. Oceanview staterooms and veranda staterooms all feature a bath and a half. This makes the especially suitable for families. If you want total luxury, you can also choose a one or two bedroom suit, which amount to a total of 18 on each ship, or one of the 2 royal suites from each ship. These suites are usually the ones that sell out very quickly.
